Cysts

Cysts are small, round nodules under the skin that may be filled with fluid, pus, or other normal-skin contents. They can develop anywhere on the body and are most often harmless. Sometimes, cysts may become painful, red, or inflamed, in which case drainage, antibiotics and/or surgical removal may be helpful. It is important to refrain from squeezing or picking at cysts, as this can lead to worsening of symptoms and infection.
